We use Outlook for project management across different users where you can create a category group for one projects and you can attach different contacts to that group, but as it seems it is only the user who shares the contact list that is able to view the individual category gropus. The user who shared the contacts with me is able to view all different category groups individually and that feature is not a possibility for the user who opens shared contacts. What I cannot choose is a way to see all the category lists individually in order to find contacts who belong to specific category lists. I can see the other user's contacts as a long list of contacts and when choosing "Arrange by" -> "Category" I am able to see all the contacts on a long list and by each contact there are different colors indicating that the contact is attached to different categories. When I open the other user's shared contacts, I am able to see that user's contacts but in a way that is not very useful. I have Publishing Editor permission for that user's contacts. I have the latest Microsoft Outlook app installed on my Mac and I need to open another user's folder and be able to see that user's contacts that are arranged in categories. If either of the case-sensitive options are selected, you may experience this problem.I am an Office 365 Business Premium user on a Mac. To do this, run Disk Utility, select the hard disk drive partition, and then select the Erase tab to view the Format option that's selected.

You can use Disk Utility to determine whether the file system is formatted as case-sensitive.
